Mobile Energy Learning Unit

These traveling exhibits from the Energy Education Foundation showcase six self-contained stations featuring hands-on activities centered around energy, oil, and gas industry technologies and sciences. Each station is designed with curriculum-based content aimed at engaging students in grades 5 through 8. While primarily tailored for 5th graders, the exhibits are suitable for various age groups.

The exhibits are transported via truck/trailer and set up in school gymnasiums or common areas. Each session can accommodate up to 48 students, with four sessions conducted per day. Each session lasts 1 ½ hours, allowing a total of 192 students to participate each day. Students receive a "MELU Pass" with questions related to the 24 activities across all six stations.

Pre- and post-visit materials are provided to enhance the learning experience, which include, but are not limited to:

  • Pre/Post tests with answer key
  • Post visit – “MELU Game”
  • Energy At Work! Career Interest Profile
  • The EEF's  “The Offshore Story” 15 minute video

The Mobile Energy Learning Units are available for visits to your school. Thanks to out generous sponsors, schools can typically receive a MELU visit free of charge.
