J. Dore
The
Offshore Energy Center honors William J. Doré with
its 2005 Pinnacle Award.Doré is
the Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Global Industries, Ltd., a leading
provider of marine construction
and support services. Established by Doré in 1973 as a small diving company with three
employees, he has expanded its services over the past 32 years to
include construction barges and diving vessels.
Today his company operates 65 vessels and employs over 3,200 personnel
in 27 countries around the world.
Doré’s philanthropic and community endeavors focus on education and
youth scholarship programs, especially in his home state of Louisiana.
Doré is a 2000 recipient of the Horatio Alger Award. He was granted an
Honorary Degree of Doctor of Humane Letters by McNeese State University
to honor his contributions and commitment for better education and
quality of life.
