
Project E3 Expanding Energy
Education
Project E3:
Expanding Energy Education is an
interdisciplinary curriculum guide for grades K – 12 featuring 24
hands-on discovery activities issues related to hydrocarbon-based energy
themes. Correlated according to State and National Standards, this
engaging resource features activities in the areas of science, social
studies, math, physics, language arts, and environmental issues. Each
activity utilizes readily available materials and contains all the
necessary information for teachers including grade levels, concepts,
skills, objectives, glossary and time constraints.
During Project E3 workshops, teachers are introduced to the activities, receive a
copy of the guide to keep and obtain six hours of CPE. Separate
workshops will be offered for six hours of GT credit. Additionally,
grades K-5 teachers are shown activities in the Playing with Petroleum
Kit, while teachers for grades 6-12 explore the Knowledge Box. Upon
completion of the Project E3 workshop, teachers can reserve
these FREE exhibits for their classrooms for up to 30 days.
The OEC has been approved to give 6 hours
of TEEAC credit for attending a PEł workshop.

Knowledge Box
To reserve the
Knowledge Box for a free month-long visit to your classroom, you must
attend a six-hour teacher workshop. Most workshops are held aboard the
Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig and Museum in Galveston.
However, contact us to arrange a workshop in your school district.
