Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig & Museum!
We can help! The Ocean Star
Offshore Drilling Rig & Museum is a one-of-a-kind facility whose
goal is to educate the public about the offshore oil and gas
industry. We can provide scouts the unique opportunity to earn
requirements for various levels of scout recognition on board a
retired drilling rig.
Workshops are available on a
case-by-case basis, as requested by scout troops. We require a
minimum of 10 scouts per workshop. Our maximum is 25 scout
participants. Please call to discuss your options and make
reservations. Reservations must be made at least 2 weeks in
advance.
Each Scout Workshop will kick-off
with a guided tour of the museum. After the tour has concluded,
scouts will get right down to business working on their
requirements. Participants will receive a certificate of
participation.
We can help meet requirements for the following
levels of scout recognition:
Brownie Career Try It
Junior Girl Scout Oil Up Patch
Cadette/Senior From Shore to Sea Interest
Project
Cub Scout Geology Belt Loop & Academics Pin
Boy Scout Geology Merit Badge
Boy Scout Energy Merit Badge
